Award Winning Author of The Eagle & The Dragon Series

  1. You are going to finish the Eagle and the Dragon series, correct? Also, I would like to see a series about World War III that is fought in the United States, an in depth book or series like Red Storm Rising or The Eagle and the Dragon. Something with us watching Cleveland be firebombed on Fox News or the battle for Chicago rages for a third week, that kind of thing. I am not aware of a book or series like this, something that puts it on our soil for the first time. Something that makes us feel the way Europeans felt in World War II. The possibilities are limitless.

    1. Hello there and thanks for visiting!

Absolutely – this series is very important to me. The Eagle & The Dragon went live earlier in the year and Straits of Fire just released a few weeks ago. I wont add spoilers here, but the next book is currently in the storyboarding process.

The idea of a Third World War taking place in the United States could be deeply interesting – how would you see something like that unfolding? Naturally this is something I have pondered as well. Would love to get your thoughts!

      1. Sir I am reading book 2 of the eagle & dragon and I found two portions taken from red storm rising instead of a German spy you use Taiwan. Can you explain this?

        1. Jim –

Thanks for reaching out and for reading Book 2 — I really appreciate it!

The false flag attack instigated on Tiananmen Square by an MSS agent is meant to provide political cover and justification for the “reunification”.

Techno-thrillers like Red Storm Rising helped shape the entire genre, and like a lot of writers I’m definitely influenced by the storytelling traditions they established.

My book has its own characters, motivations, and geopolitical context, and I don’t copy any text or scenes, but I absolutely draw inspiration from the broader genre history.

If there are specific passages you’re thinking of, feel free to point them out — I always value thoughtful readers who pay close attention!

          Best,
          John

    2. Interesting comment. Try the Invasion America series (5 books) by Vaughn Heppner. Futuristic, but fun reading.

    1. Daniel – I really appreciate it. Feedback like this is a great inspiration to keep going! The next one is coming out sometime in early-2026. Hoping mid-Q1 but wont rush it – I want it to be a worthy next chapter in the series.

      Thanks!
      John W

  2. First two books are so relevant to the times we are living in today. Excellent storyline and looking forward to the next book of the series.

  3. John, it kind of leaves you breathless. I am 84 years old and have seen enough to pray that this won’t happy yet jaded enough to sense that communist countries will never give up their drive to rule the world. Your series is a good way to peer into what that might look like. Keep up the great work.

    1. Jim,

I really appreciate the feedback! As a work of fiction, I treat this more as a cautionary tale of what we encounter in real life geopolitics.

I look forward to sharing more.

      1. Hi John
Just finished book 1 & 2 of the Eagle and the Dragon series – and they were excellent!
Looking forward to Book 3 of the same series.

Please contact me as to when I can plan on Book 3 becoming available please.

Your storyline is perfect and I was active duty US Air Force,
1969-1994, when the Cold War did not go hot!

Thank you for keeping me aware of any other novels such as the Eagle and Dragon series

  4. I have to admit I’ve never been into fiction novels at all but I saw The Eagle & the Dragon on Kindle and figured “what the hell” and realized I couldn’t put it down. I was excited that Straits of Fire came out soon after and I have to say, im genuinely blown away, it reads like an action movie in real time and im not even halfway through. I appreciate the care you have put into such an exciting story. Now the big question, will there be a book #3?

    1. Jack,

That’s great to hear. I write the fiction I always wish I had a chance to read. I strive to create a combination of something to entertain and also provoke thought.

Book 3 is in the works as you speak. Stay tuned. If you “follow” me on Amazon you should get instant notification when it’s out.

Won’t make you all wait long. Writing book three has been demanding, but also fun. And hope you enjoy it when it comes.

Feel free to reach out again!

    1. Randy –

Always excited when readers reach out and very good you enjoyed it. It really is humbling to hear such positive feedback.

Book 3 should be about a month out from release.

Hoping you read it and enjoy it.

  6. Hi John,
THOROUGHLY enjoyed reading your first two books in the series, The Eagle & the Dragon and The Straits of Fire, Is the 3rd book named “Pacific Storm” (thought I read that somewhere) and do you have an update as to when that will come out? Thanks John

    1. David,

Really appreciate the feedback and that you enjoyed them both!

You are correct the next book is called Pacific Storm which is releasing this month.

Stay tuned as it is in post-production and very close to release!

      Best Regards,
      John

  7. Sir, How many books will be in the Eagle and Dragon series? I tend to read a series when it’s complete. I’ve been burned in the past when an author never finished a series and I was left hanging.

    1. James – it’s John and I appreciate you reaching out.

There are going to be 6, possibly a 7th, in the series depending on how deep the story needs to go.

Each of the remaining stories have already been outlined and can’t wait to show how this conflict, if it ever came pass (which I pray it doesn’t) would unfold.

Given the popularity of the series, I don’t see any reason it wouldn’t be finished. It’s a story I’ve wanted to write since I was a teenager. Totally understood on not wanting to start something that isn’t finished though.

I hope you stay in touch! Feel free to reach out any time.

      Best

      1. John, Thank you so much for the quick answer. I have the first two books and going to buy the third one, but haven’t started it yet. I can’t wait to start it, though. I’ve read the reviews and it seems like it’s a really great series!

  8. I’m enjoying the series so far. I’m listening to them on Audible during my drive each day. Lots of Red Storm Rising feel to this series. Just finished chapter 1 of Pacific Storm and the bridge collapse is straight out of today’s headings with the collapse of the Key Bridge last year in Baltimore. Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

    1. PJ – so glad you reached out and are enjoying the series.

Very good observation on the parallels to the Baltimore Bridge incident as well. In a more strategically sensitive location, that type of accident would have global ramifications.

Feel free to stay in touch and reach out at any time.

  9. I just finished the third book and am very much looking forward to the next installment when it is available. And, I hope, to the movie or TV series version.

    1. Joe – Thanks for reaching out and that is so great to hear you enjoyed it.

I hope to not keep people waiting – Book 4 is already in the works.

Would also love to see the series get an “on screen” adaptation as long as they keep to the story!
